    This was our second Investiagtion in this property, now a excellent Thai resturant, in the heart of Colchester. 

To recap on our previous visit, we were called in by the owners who had ben experiencing some unsual happenings. The owner late one valentines evening, when locking up, being tripped over by a dinning chair that had been previously been tucked away. The lady owner seeing a figure of a woman in a certain part of the building and members of staff feeling cold spots and having feelings of frustration and worry.

     After running a series of temperature and emf ( electro magnetic field ) our mediums began investigating the property. In the kitchen area , Dave, picked up on old energy ( spirit ). It was not linked to the current building, but was from a time before the building was built.

     In one corner of the resturant was a small alcove with a dinning table, above which was a figure of a large budda. We all felt in this area, a differant energy to the rest of the building, one of love and protection. Anne our gifted clairvoyant could see an old woman, dressed in a large black or grey cloak looking in through a window that was no longer there. She described her as looking like an old crone or witch type person. Anne felt that somehow she was being stopped from passing through by the Budda statue potecting that area of the room. The owner confirmed with us that there was once a back door and window in that area but which had been bricked up many, many years ago.

   Our medium Stan then picked up on a male spirit, who he described wearing a felt hat, given the date 1645 and that he was a cavalier. He had the impression that he had been captured in the property and then taken outside to be executed. When then decided to have a meditation in this area. Anne picked up on a parchment or important document with a french link to it, the document having some flowers on it. Meanwhile Stan still felt the energy of this cavalier or soldier that had been captured. 

      As I went deeper into meditation I saw a woman holding out some flowers to me then suddenly i saw this paper with a coat of arms on it. I described this as having a white griffin on it surrounded by four yellow flowers, of what kind I could not see. I then had the distinct impression that I was this cavalier and that I had been carrying this with me from France to someone in the colchester area, for what means I could not say at this time. Stan confirmed that I had this cavalier with me. After a bit longer we came out of meditation with more questions than answers. Stan draw this cavalier afterwards.

After our first investiagtion I looked up the coat of arms and found one close to what I had described, A white griffin sitting on top of a shield with three yellow flowers down the centre. This belonged to the family of a local knight in the colchester area, circ 1620's onwards. Of course I could not find any pictures on this cavalier that Stan drew, but this is what he was given in meditation.

Could this orb? on the flower pot to dave's left, be the witch like woman that Anne saw.

     On our second investiagtion we tried to see if we could pick up any further information that would help us solve the mystery of the cavalier and the woman.  With regards the owner being tripped up by a chair that had previously been under the table. Dave came to the conclusion that this was the spirit or Guardian or Budda figure letting the owner know that he had forgot to put out his offering and flowers one valentines night, Something that his wife will do everytime she is in the resturant.

     Anne could still see the image of this old crone like figure peering in threw some unseen window but was stopped from entering by the Budda figure. She got the name Mary Fitzgerald.  Stan and Dave both picked up on this male energy. A man in top hat, but flat, wearing a dirty cravat. In clothes that were once expensive but now dirty and torn, a man who had seen better times. Dave described him as a solicitor or clerk. Stan was given the name Spendfrift and George Lucas, with a date of 1648.

   After a while Stan went into a deep meditation or trance like state and began to give us some information when asked by Anne and myself. He felt Love and Tears and became deeply emotional. He felt she was the wife of a Royalist and had watched her man being executed. He gave us the name Catherine, and that she kouse in the property that was once a guest house and that she lived in farm  down the road. With the date 1643.

   She had come here looking for Jake, she believed he was having an affair and took coin for information about his wherabouts. She was haunting the Building because she wanted forgiveness from her man, after she had wrongly betrayed him to the authorities. Stan said she died aged 23 from the Pox, after going mad with grief.

   After the investigation many things started to fit together, Perhaps this Jake was the cavalier and this Catherine his lover or wife who had betrayed him to the local roundhead commander. Perhaps he was carrying an important document from someone in France but has been intercepted due to Catherine giving him up to the authorites. Pehaps we will never know for sure, but we will keep investigating this riddle and hopefully find the answers.

 Marlborough Head Inn

This old inn situated in Historic Rochford had been experiencing some strange happenings, heavy footsteps, cold spots and banging noises coming from an empty upstairs room. We asked by the landlord to investigate what was going on. We arrived around 10.00pm and while Dave, Anne settled down in the main bar area, the rest of the team did some preliminary tests around the building, for temperature and electrical cables that may be hidden, giving us a point of referance during the investigation.

  AS we were not allowed upstairs on this occasion we could not investigate the banging noises that were supposed to have come from this area. We then decidecto concentrate on downstairs, setting up a Sony handycam with night vision to cover the bar area where cold spots had been felt.

    While we all had a cup of coffee, Dave felt something or one smack him in the ear, which usually told hime spirit was trying to get his attention. I myself felt a heavy pressure around my neck and shoulders and felt quite cold even though inside the inn it was warm. Anne our talented clairvoyant told me that she could see me wearing a heavy dark cloak that seemed to be waterlogged. It certainly felt like its was wet. I had the impression of an important man, something to do with ships, but who seemed to be very agitated. The date 1796 came to me.

    At this point we had some strange readings from our EMF reader, we had a slow tick over, beg=hind where we were sitting, by the great Bay Window. ( Please see our section Paranormal Equipment for a guide to terms )

At this point Anne felt a presence by the front door and went to investigate. She was given the name Steven Piper with a date of 1539. Did the inn stand their then, apparently their was another inn around that time called the Sun. Jon and myself took the EMF meter outside to check the window again, upon further investigation we foun hidden cabled behind the seat, so that ruled out any Paranormal activity from that source.

  After a short while, Anne, Dave and myself decided to investigate the old cellar and stable area. No unusal readings were taken here, but even though it did have a strange feel to it.   Anne desribed seeing 2 children from dressed in 18th C clothing and dave felt the presence of a younf woman, wearing a bonnet and dressed in a white frock, he felt she was a servant girl, who was frustrated over something.

  At 11.50 we decided to hold a group meditation/ seance in the bar area. Anne immediatley felt a drak presance kneeling in front of her holding a bloodied knife. She seemed agitated and asked Dave to take it away, which dAve duly did, drawing the energy towards him.   Jon felt the presence of a man, wearing a brown suit, being stung from bee stings and dying from said affliction. He gave the name George Starkey, Anne said that she knew this man and he did indeed die from a bee sting.

    At around 12.30 we decided to end the investigation, we had not captured much eveidance, but it was certainly an interesting evening, we not able to investigate the weird banging noises upstairs, but would love to go back one day.
